Public-Private Partnership
Our founding Member is an expert in the area of Public-Private Partnerships Law. At VITA VERITAS LLP we strongly believe that Public-Private Partnerships are an effective tool for addressing the underlying causes of inefficiency and the re-engineering of poorly performing public enterprises for better performance. We have worked with clients in the structuring of the legal frameworks for several such partnerships.
We were instructed by the Delta State Government to prepare an Investment Bill, the Delta State Investments Development Agency Law 2015, on behalf of the Executive branch of the State. This Bill when passed into Law will administer, manage and develop the policy direction for all PPP transactions within the State. We are also the retained lawyers to the Delta Investment Development Agency, the regulatory body for all State driven investment matters.
Our firm advised the Infrastructure Concession Regulatory Commission (ICRC) on the drafting of the Public Private Partnership Regulatory Commission (Establishment, etc.) Bill, 2013.
Our Founding Member was a part of a consortium of professional firms that represented the Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN) in the corporation’s commercialization of its Fibre Optic Cable infrastructure. Along with other professionals, she drafted the Concession Contract with a total value of approximately US$ 170,000,000.
The firm has advised the Presidency of the Federal Republic of Nigeria on an exclusive basis on this concession and reviewed the agreements for the Supply of Fibre Optic Deployment Services between a government concessionaire and its contractor, specifically for the supply and installation of a high tension Fibre Optic Cable Transmission System, the Sky Wrap, on approximately 2,500 kilometers of the concession.
Our firm led the legal team that helped in the shaping and conceptualization for a concessionaire with the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) to build and operate exquisite Transit Lounges at all FAAN’s international airports across Nigeria. The same client operates a similar concession in Ghana with the firm’s legal representation.
Additionally, we have provided legal services for a concessionaire of FAAN who operates a tolling plaza for the Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Lagos.
